About Cate
I have for as long as I can remember, gone to weddings and thought of a better way to do the little things that make such a difference. As I began college I found myself lost in what I wanted to do for a career, as many of us do. As I started talking to people about some of my passions I found Communication Arts as a real path, and if you know me, you know how much that fits. Once I began my Public Relations studies I was excited by the idea of events and how communication plays such a large role. So, I sent out resumes and soon became an events assistant and receptionist at a plantation in South Georgia. On the plantation is where my ideas fit together and became a reality. I worked on weddings, planning out the day of events, fixing problems, seeing all that could go wrong on such a big day and how to fix these issues.
Old South Events began though when a friend of mine became engaged, and I started helping her plan her wedding. She came to me clueless and over whelmed by the idea of the wedding, and I wondered how many brides or host feel this was? I felt having someone there to help bounce ideas would be helpful someone who knew about the industry and how things should work so you did not have to worry quite so much was what every bride needed. So Old South Events is here to help events become what they should be, perfect, enjoyable, and less worrisome even if you are the host.
